Ms. Wittpenn joined Stony Brook as the second Speech Pathologist in the Department in January 1992.
Since that time she has worked with patients from pre-school age to geriatrics. Areas of focus have included speech and language delays, fluency, aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and dysphagia. Over the course of her career as a medical speech pathologist she has worked in acute care hospitals, out- patient clinics, rehabilitation facilities, assisted living and long -term care facilities.
She has participated in mentoring Graduate Students from local universities and continues to mentor Graduate Students from Stony Brook University. Ms. Wittpenn has provided in- services to high school students and undergraduates.
Currently she serves as a Speech Pathologist at the Stony Brook ALS Clinic.
